Job Role
Cargo agents are responsible for coordinating and facilitating the transportation and shipment of goods. They work with various stakeholders, including airlines, shipping companies, freight forwarders, and customers, to ensure that cargo is transported efficiently and safely from origin to destination.
Responsibilities
- Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulations.
- Responsible for receiving, labeling, inspecting, and recording incoming and outgoing cargo shipments.
- Interact with customers, airlines, or freight companies to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and provide shipping details.
- Monitor the status of shipments and provide updates to clients or relevant personnel.
Requirement
- The ability to lift heavy objects (sometimes up to 50 lbs or more) and work in potentially challenging conditions (e.g., warehouses or tarmacs) is necessary.
- Ability to work well in a team, especially in a fast-paced airport environment.
